The idea of infusing high doses of vitamins intravenously was pioneered by the late Dr. John Myers, a physician from Baltimore, Maryland, who up until his passing in 1984 infused 1000’s of patients with his unique formulation of vitamins. Since that time his original formula has been modified and other formulas created for a wide variety of diseases – but the basic formula has remained, used successfully by hundreds of physicians, and is known as the “Myers' cocktail”.
At Nouveau, we use the Myers' Cocktail formulation as our base. Depending upon the client’s specific needs we can then add other vitamins, minerals, amino acids, anti-oxidants and micro-nutrients to the infusion.
What is the benefit of getting these nutrients via infusion vs. oral supplements?
Supplements made in the US are not regulated by the FDA or other regulating organization to verify the validity of the ingredients and consistency of the manufacturing processes. By comparison, supplements made in Germany, for instance, are regulated and require every ingredient meet standards independently and that the manufacturing process does not alter the efficacy of the ingredient in any way.
At Nouveau, the infusion ingredients are individually compounded by a licensed compounding pharmacy in the US. The IV is mixed minutes before you arrive or after you arrive if you require customization. At Nouveau, we have a formula for testing the “osmolality” of the solution based on the total of all ingredients including the weight of the IV solution utilized. This is an important step in the process. IF this is not done, the solution could be either hypertonic or hypotonic. Either condition would make the benefit of the solution less valuable to your body. Our goal is to make the solution isotonic so the intra/extra-cellular exchange is effective delivering the maximum benefit for your body.
Now, you have a science lesson in fluid and electrolytes, oh yes, I remember, you wanted to know why get an IV vs. oral supplements!!!!
An IV infusion of various ingredients directly into the bloodstream will achieve blood levels as much as 10 times higher than possible with oral supplements………..That’s why!
Who should get an IV Cocktail?
We believe anyone who dislikes taking a handful of oral supplements is a candidate for an IV Cocktail. With higher absorption rates and higher doses available, it is a cost effective, time effective, response effective avenue to improved overall health and daily living performance, as well as athletic performance and recovery.
